An Introduction......by William Kyte, Editor in Chief
As stewards of this emerging news source, we are in the process of defining the vision that will become a template to guide our evolution.

Ideally, a broad readership is composed of a network of numerous constituencies, we publish with no preconception which particular constituencies we may reach.

A basic tenet will be - "a decent respect for the opinions of all."  There is an inevitable disparity between the world as it is and the world as each individual sees it.

We will strive to support inclusion, be open to dissent and sensitive to diverse life styles, regional/cultural differences and the inconsistencies and vulnerabilities of human nature.

We will strive for objectivity and offer opportunities to contemplate a broad range of viewpoints, issues and events.  We invite you to see what we see; and to underscore our intention to initiate searching conversation, we invite your comments, concerns, rebuttals and replies.

While we do not profess to have all the answers, we will strive through our editorials, commentaries, features and columns, to widen or transform perspectives, priorities, opinion and discourse.

We will strive to employ the power of imagery through words or photo, to convey multiple layers of meaning and to provoke that which will last long after the screen or page fades thought!

 COACH CARTER
One Man, One Team, One Dream......a Daughter's Review, by Chelsea Seder

Many movies made today are tired clichés with similar plot lines. Every once in while you get a movie that draws you into it and you feel as though you are part of the story, Coach Carter falls in that category.

Coach Carter is a brilliant movie that brings the viewer into the story. This movie deals with a group of troublesome boys who deal with street fights, teen pregnancy, and broken families but where they go for sanctuary, the basketball court, is exactly where this story begins. This true story is about a man, Ken Carter, who is reluctant at first, but ends up coaching this group of boys. Carter teaches valid lessons to all kids in school, ones that can be taken with them all through life: Always put your schoolwork before athletics, and you will succeed. Carter puts great emphasis on their success in the classroom. The boys and their parents at first feel as though he has gone over board; but, in the end they see that all his pushing for them pays off.

Samuel L. Jackson displays a fantastic performance in portraying Ken Carter. The cast of young actors is able to bring their characters to life, with first-hand experience in being teenagers themselves. The boys show great respect for a very diligent man, and in return Carter is able to do the same.

Being in the audience of this movie makes you feel you are really at a game. You cheer for them as they succeed and feel the pain of their grief.   By far one of the best films put together to reveal a real life happening.
